On Nov. 28, 2022, United States-based Anovion LLC entered into a contract with SAMI to build one new graphitization factory with initial capacity of 20kt/a graphite anode powder for lithium ion batteries in Alabama. As an acknowledged technology provider in modern Acheson furnace, SAMI will conduct the engineering design for this project.

Anovion uses proven, reliable, scalable graphitization technology to ensure a product with high crystallinity and low impurities. Anovion has the largest anode powder graphitization capacity in North America at 5,000tpa (tons per annum) nowadays, and plans capacity expansion targeting up to 150,000 tons per annum of finished product by 2030.
